Today's Beard of the Day belongs to Raymond Raposa, also known as the psychedelic folk act Castanets. I was running errands with a friend this afternoon and after Castanets came up on his Ipod; he talked about his beard for nearly 20 minutes. After consulting Google, I was clearly not disappointed. There are plenty of pictures of Banhart that don't have a burlesque theme, but I thought this one was just too perfect to pass up. I'm sorry to report that as of January 27, 2009, Banhart's beard is no more [check out the difference]. I stumbled across this old article on Stereogum and literally gasped.
